We chose a plot about group of friends having different beliefs causing their friendship to end. Can you help me guys what are some reasons why friendships end? Like what kind of belief-variation can end a certain friendship?

I once followed a very close friendship of 2 guys. They were really good friends, roommates, bedmates, fwb. But sadly it had to end because I think the other one fell in love with the other and the other one don't feel the same. he went away and just said that he just want to find himself but he never showed up on social media again. it's really sad now that i think of it since they don't talk anymore and I can't watch old videos of them without breaking my heart (lol). It's actually sadder to see broken friendships between men since the bond is stronger, I guess.
