Paleo, Keto, High-fat Low Carb Thread
I can't go vegan, because I realize vegetables are making me sick and bloated.
I am wondering if anyone is on the following diet regimens listed on the title?

"vegetable are making me sick and bloated"
Exactly how I felt when I was vegan, although I think that I would attribute how I felt more to the grains and soy which are usually the basis for such diets.
I am now paleo like 80% of the time and low carb for 15% of the rest of the time. I have never felt nor looked better!
It honestly is so easy once you get familiar with all of the foods which are allowed and also figure out some of the companies out there which make some really awesome stuff which is compatible with our diets. What's more is that you can really go paleo with nothing more than the basic grocery store necessities (sans the grains and dairy of course), although I try to buy organic, local, free-range, etc. most of the time for a myriad of reasons.
But yeah... I've been on it for like 3 years... ? I guess I wasn't as committed until about 2 years ago, but I've done so much research into how awful grains and dairy are to us and I even wrote my IB Extended Essay on the topic. I'm just so happy that I discovered paleo and I really think of it as more of a lifestyle now because its teachings really go far beyond food.
You can ask me most any questions!

Thanks! I'm 5'2, close to 140 lbs - that's an epiphany enough to start getting myself together. I heard that keto is a really good way to lose weight, but I heard that you're always dehydrated at the beginning of keto, and that it's a stricter version of Paleo.
For my weight, I'm supposed to be around 110-115, so I need to lose a good 25lbs by the end of Christmas, so I can start 2017 with a bang.
My only worry is that, because I'm an Asian bottom who wants to skin down and be a twink, I kinda don't wanna be muscular. And I see a lot of Keto people getting ripped, even the women who have been on it for years. I don't want that, I want to have a slender smooth twinkish bottom body for my future husband.
Delusions aside... is 25lbs achievable with Paleo? I believe all my weight is water and carb weight. I know it, because I feel it in my system.
And that's great that you're on Paleo now! I've been trying to figure out between Keto and Paleo, but I may go Paleo since Keto is way too restrictive.

Interesting. I've always found Keto to be more restrictive since there are so many low-carb things which are not at all paleo. But I suppose it depends on what works best for you.
25 lbs is totally achievable and I've seen people use paleo to lose HUNDREDS. I would also recommend running (preferably cross country) or biking, even walking, and light weight training. You will not get muscular unless you do heavy weight training, which is usually what a lot of paleo dieters do since the lifestyle aims to create a balance between aerobics and anaerobic.
EDIT: I personally lost about 25 lbs on low carb dieting, then 25 more on paleo.

Thanks. That's so comforting to hear. Wow that's great to hear that you lost 50 lbs+ from Paleo alone
In regards to protein... Paleo seems to be in moderation right? If I eat too little protein I'll lose muscles, but if I eat too much will I get muscular? Sorry for the naive questions
I personally tried Keto for a couple of days, and I got the infamous metallic taste in my tounge.. I didn't like it. Will Paleo give you the same?
And how maintainable is Paleo/Keto after you've lost all the weight.
You should write a Paleo eBook and sell it on Amazon Kindle

So excited someone made a thread about this I have been on keto since october and I have lost about 80lbs. It was the only thing worked for me and it cured my allergies and cravings. Although I have stalled recently and I am having a hard time getting out of it. :/

I'm on keto doing a cut and went from 175 (November 2015) to 143 (June 2016)
The majority of that was lost from November -> January where I was hovering around 155 - 150.

And I am NEVER going Vegan AGAIN.

In my experience, no matter how much protein you eat, it is your physical activity that makes a difference. Protein which is not needed for building/maintaining muscles is converted into glucose in our bodies to use as energy. I have found that protein should make up around 1/3 of your calories, but it is also true that I do a lot of physical activity, so you may need less. If your weight loss stalls on paleo, it is because either a) you are eating too much protein, b) you are eating too many simple carbs, or c) you are not getting enough exercise.
I think that I have read about the metallic taste issue, although I have never gotten it. The worst symptom I have from a low-carb diet is the smell of ammonia in my sweat... not very pleasant, especially when you're on a team!
I would say that paleo is even easier after I have lost all of the weight. I hardly even look at grains and never dairy.
And lol thanks. I hope to do biochemical research into the benefits of the diet when I begin my career.

Well initially I had tried eating purely plant based, but i was getting really bad allergies and at the time I was prediabetic so it was not helping at all. The scale just would not move at all. I was exercising about 5 times a week hardcore. Like zumba 3 times a week and boot camp 2 a week. That lasted from march 2015 - october 2015. The way I found out about keto and low carb altogether was through a family friend who had gone on it herself. At first I thought she was insane due to the fact you always hear that fat is so bad for you. But, as desperate as I was I tried it. I did do some research on foods I could eat just because I had no freaking idea what carb was and what wasn't. So I did it for about a month and when I went into the doctor, I was already thinking the worst and thought I gained weight. But low and behold that scale was 15 lighter ! I wanted to cry from where I was so happy lol. I really do recommend this if you have tried and have failed with a low calorie diet honestly. http://www.ditchthecarbs.com/howtostart/ check that link out. There is a lot of info on how to begin

I'm on the Aretha Franklin diet. I eat 70 big macks, a drum full of pig feet and a bucket of chitlins everyday. I'm trying to get as fat as I can. So I can get liposuction. Then they gone take the fat and suck it into my butt. I want a booty 20 times bigger than Kim K. Then I can get me any man I want.

Very inspiring!
The vegan-backed USDA and FDA wants us to believe that a calorie is a calorie, but emerging clinical trials (not to mention hundreds of thousands of personal testimonies) directly conflict with these erroneous statements! Thank you for sharing!

I tried the Keto diet for a while and I lost weight and it kept me from feeling hungry, but I stopped cause my kidney's started to hurt.
I think it was cause I was consuming too much protein and not enough fat.
My new diet plan is to eat under 1000 calories a day, and so far i've lost 8 pounds in a week

Eat a balanced diet and just drink water, plain tea and plain coffee. Stay away from dairies, do mostly cardio workouts!
I have lost 30 lbs so far in 8 months!
OT: Who is that guy undressing in your avi?

You eat high fat and extremely low carbs and it will put your body in a state called ketosis. In ketosis your body burns fat instead of the carbs.

no tea no shade no pink lemonade but when you're basically mimicking stress when you're on ketosis, you might feel good at first overtime it will detrimental to your health.

you can still be vegan and not eat vegetables, i personally don't like them and think they are overrated not necessary for health. I eat mostly fruit which is what we were designed to eat.
