According to the sources, Apple might be gearing up for an iTunes revamp that would introduce software architecture with the ability for the company to "more easily drop iTunes music downloads" down the road. This would allow Apple to subtly shift the service towards the streaming and radio side of things in the event that paid music downloads drop off precipitously.
not this rumor coming up again. I think this is the worst kind of rumor.... a TRUE rumor.
tbh drop Itunes, and I'll drop all their products I own The biggest appeal of their products for me is the easy synching up of Itunes to all my devices and between each other. I can drop to products of most likely better quality and cheaper prices if they are just gonna convert to all streaming and I'll just use Spotify.

I said this like a year ago that it'd close eventually. It cost money to run the server for millions of people, have staff and such for it, and once downloads burn it'll lose then money to keep it open probably.
But I don't think it's gonna happen soon as everyone thinks. It'll likely be next decade before it's even gonna happen.
I also think you'll keep your music if it's closed, and besides once the file is downloaded on your computer it's not like they can take it back anyways.
i buy all my music on itunes but if they pull this **** imma just illegally download it all. I hate using streaming i like having my own music and owning it Do ****ing do it apple i swear to god
Don't believe it, but even so the dumbest thing you can do as a business is drop a platform that makes you money. Even if streaming is the future, taking the option of buying music away is stupid. The music/digital media industry has made so many advances but at the same time is moving backwards.
if you plan on owning any Apple stock in the long term I would reconsider that... It seems like all their moves nowadays are trash. They just release mini phones nobody wants, and remove services people enjoy. Soon I might honestly root for it to fail
