We have announced that we will be canceling our upcoming shows in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina because of the recent passage of the HB2 legislation. This was a difficult decision for us to make as a band. We don’t want to penalize our fans in North Carolina by not performing for them, but in the end it comes down to what we feel is morally right.

Do what Mumford & Sons(?) did: play the show and donate all the proceeds to a pro-LGBT charity.

So just because a small percent of a population doesn't get what they want, people who don't agree with it HAVE to let it happen or their favorite band doesn't get to play? SMH this country

I don't think people should cancel their concerts there considering the arenas/stadiums that artists perform at are mostly owned by local governments (or are privately owned) and have nothing to do with the state government which is the one that passed the HB2 legislation. You can speak out against the law without punishing your fans for something that has nothing to do with them. Performing in NC is not going to benefit the state economy (and even if it did it wouldn't be significant)

It just seems like people are cancelling concerts in NC for PR reasons rather than actual logic

If the bands want to cancel their shows because they feel uncomfortable performing in a place that openly and PROUDLY despises LGBT people then they have the right to take a stand

If NC fans are upset about their loss of opportunity then they should complain to their trashy, incompetent governor (and the leagues of NC citizens who agree and support his views). Or just buy tickets for the show in one of the better states.

There's plenty to choose from. These bands don't owe them anything. If they're offering refunds for all the NC tickets, then what's the problem?

Maybe by other sites, but Nick and Demi were definitely dragged on here.
