The CW announces four-way crossover with Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl

Now that Supergirl has moved to The CW, the network is gearing up for an epic four-way crossover with Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Ahead of its upfront presentation on Thursday, CW chief Mark Pedowitz touted Supergirl’s move from CBS to The CW. “Just imagine what our superhero crossover episode is going to look like come December,” he told reporters, later following up by calling the event “our biggest one ever.”

“Next season, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and now Supergirl will join forces in our annual crossover event, our biggest ever,” he said.

The news is unsurprising. It’s become an annual tradition for Greg Berlanti’s super series to cross over in the fall. It started when Arrow first introduced Grant Gustin as Barry Allen in season 2 of Arrow, following up the next season with a crossover between Arrow and The Flash. The two shows then crossed over with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow ahead of its launch, while The Flash also crossed over with Supergirl on CBS.

They need to stop with the superhero stuff. And DC are trying to pull something they don't have the material for just because Marvel does it, instead of finding their own personality.

I miss the days in which everything we got was a Spiderman movie and two small superhews per year. Now everything needs to be connected and every month there has to be a new superhero. Keep it.

DC's been doing crossovers way before Marvel ever decided to (mostly with their animated shows on Fox Kids). That reboot Hulk movie was just bunched in the MCU after they decided to do crossovers which says everything.

It was expensive for CBS to keep especially with the licensing cost and filming in LA. The CW is not a flop channel. It does pretty well, not great, but still decent. Since CBS co owns The CW, it was a no brainer for the show to move there. Obviously, it's cheaper to film in Vancouver and the budget will be cut, but I think the show will make do.

Actually The CW is doing way better lately, last year was great for them, they renewed every single show, and they got critical acclaim and big awards with some series (Jane the virgin and crazy ex-girlfriend) and all their superheroes shows are doing great, while Supergirl was flopping for the CBS standards, so they could have cancell it orcut its budget and send it to The CW

I'm so sick of these damn crossovers. The last one hurt Flash so bad because the storyline completely fell through in favour of introducing the legends of tomorrow show, and had to be recovered afterward. At first it was cute between Flash & Arrow but now it's doing more bad than good imo.

Supergirl average this year: 1.55
Flash average this year: 1.34

But the move to CW will obviously bump Supergirl down some; how much remains to be seen.
