i actually think trans people having the right to use bathrooms of the gender they identify as is more important than gay people being refused service, and i'm gay + not trans. the way i look at it is: if i'm refused service, i can just go to the place next door and get service there instead. if a trans person is told they can't use public bathrooms, the only choice they have is to go home.
gay people being refused service is obv a v important topic and both can be fought at once but at least we have other (just as good) options for whenever it happens. trans people don't
