Which one is better to work in cuz idk what to choose

Choose a college education so you wont have to work in either.
For a beginner job I think they're both as equally ******. Depending on the location one might be better/worst than the other

If you are lookong for experience and dont need the money go into retail.

If you need money go into food service. If you can stand there for 8 hours a day they will literally schedule you 40+ hours a week.

Like i make a little above minimum wage but i take home about $1200 a month because they have me working literally all day during the week.

Retail. I've worked with fast food and a dining hall and I would choose retail without a doubt. Retail gets you more experience on a resume especially if you have to meet sales requirements.

The only time I'd do food service was if I could be a barista, but otherwise retail. People are picky as f**k about food.

Ive had 2 jobs in food, 1 in retail.. food service is more fast paced and social, which i like. My first job was at a burger joint at a small amusement park, both the place and the customers were the pits. My second job was retail at a boring ass paint store, the job was so mundane that i actually started to get depressed because of it.

Now im at Starbucks and its so fun, the company is good to work for, my co-workers are awesome and you get to know the customers

I'd rather choose retail. I always hear people say not to go into food service if you can avoid it. I feel like there'd be a higher chance of customers getting pissy with you if you're handling their food and I ain't here for that

Retail. Used to work at papa johns now I work at a shoe store.
Pros:
- uniform is flexible
- discount is much more useful and you don't have to worry about getting fat
- don't have to stand in a hot sweaty kitchen
- people get more angry about food than clothes
- food orders are more specific than clothes or shoes

I work in retail and have done a lot of food service volunteer stuff and retail is way better. People can be total a-holes when it comes to food. Plus the kitchen is a hot sweaty mess.

Food service is usually more social though cause it's more of a team effort in a sense. If that's important to you it would be something to consider. Also the pay is usually slightly better (especially if you're a waiter, you can make serious bank on tips)
