I mean It didn't work for her as well as it did for Britney, Gaga, Gwen etc She changed her looks like Madonna, her public persona was very Madonna like (see some of her interviews) but her music didn't delivered. Was it because she was considered a Vocalist by the GP and not an all around entertainer?

i think madonna ha reinventions were organic and authentic.
plus she was the first and the geepee might think all the other gurls ha transformations look kinda reductive and try hard. idk.

Prior to Gaga, she was the most versatile pop star and served the most different sound and looks (which everyone acknowledges) so I think she accomplished what she wanted.

I think Xtina don't see what's wrong and probably don't understand why she's flopping. She creams too much and she comes off as arrogant to many people. She's not Madonna and will never be. She should focus on her music and just deliver the best she can.

But she never said she wanted to be the new Madonna? The constant reinvention is the only thing they have in common. Other than that, Christina has said multiple times that her focus is being a vocalist rather than an overall performer.

I don't actually see the similarity that you pointed out between Britney / Gwen and Madonna either. Sure, all pop girls are influenced by Madonna, she basically birthed the subsequent generations. But I don't see either of them as Madonna 2.0 and I doubt they see themselves that way

I think it's because she takes really long breaks. Reinvention doesn't work if you take half a decade to release. You have to ease people into your next sound and you have to be on trend. Madonna was that, Christina is not.

Britney has never reinvented herself though. She's been doing the same thing since 1999, which works for her.

Ten years ago I would've thought she would be one of the biggest stars around at this time, following Madonnas footsteps, and she were as big as Beyonce is right now for example.

But she simply takes too long in between her records. I think she lost a bit of eagerness to music as well, given the fact she seems to focus on all sorts of side projects. And imo that shows in the quality of her music and her live performances. Her management is horrible as well. Especially social media activity & promo.

Its a shame. I still think she is one of the most talented, if not THE most talented, woman in music out there. But I always felt there has been some stuff going on with her since around the time of her divorce. Her hard times have always been somewhat under the radar and she only opened up recently about how she's finally feeling free and herself again.

I think the long breaks plus coming back as a different persona each time just threw a lot of ppl off tilt with her.

I've never seen Christina as a contender for Madonna's throne. Probably because she was never the main pop star all through her career (and don't come at me with sales or Grammy's, there is much more to it to be a worldwide superstar). Britney and Gaga both were the biggest (most known and relevant) pop star in the world at some point.
