That's exactly what I've said over the years...the re-inventions were too drastic...she lost more of her previous audience each & every time.
there's a way to appease yourself artistically but still give your base part of what they came to love you for over the years. you don't just up & say as a pop star....i want to have this type of album & do a FULL project of it. you need to balance the two sides of what's familiar while still introducing a different sound into the project.
