I believe it. She's made a career of being a proud Latina woman. It's quintessential to who she is, and I can see a lot of casting people not wanting her ethnicity to "distract" from her character. They can stay pressed.

I think more early on this was true, when she wasn't famous.

After awhile though, her name was associated with certain kinds of bad movies so quality productions would be less likely to hire her despite her fame.
And now she's in her 40s, and even 40something actresses known for being good can struggle.

It's not just the blacks. I feel like Latinos get it far worse. There is still a huge lack of Latin actors/actresses on the silver screen.

The title is misleading, but I agree. This is a reality for any non-white actor/actress trying to find roles.

Anyway she's right. Even if she were a better actor, she would not get many roles, especially in the beginning of the her career. When she became a big name, it probably became a bit easier, but then all she could get were bad romantic comedies.

If this came from Ana Ortiz, America Ferrera, Gina Rodriguez or anyone else who can actually act, then I would agree, but this hack needs to sit on her no talent big butt and be grateful for her millions.

She's clearly doing something right... Not every actress has them stats and shes also a global popstar so the stale shade is pointless she's a house hold name as actress so if you think she can't act or not it's irrelevant to JLo them movie roles are gonna keep coming.
