This is all wrong. In my opinion, streams should only count for singles, not the actual album.
Now it seems like all you have to do is actually sell one physical copy of an album, but have a single from that album listened to say 1000 times and you've got a gold/platinum certification. It makes a mockery of the actual achievement, I think, although I understand why they're doing it.
