German Imam blames Cologne rape victims; 'they wore perfume'
Quote:
Muslim cleric says Cologne sex attacks were the victims' fault because they wore PERFUME
A Cologne imam has said the victims of the New Years Eve mob sex attacks had themselves to blame because they wore perfume.
Sami Abu-Yusuf added that he was not surprised the girls were sexually assaulted, groped and raped, because of the way they dressed.
'The events of New Year's Eve were the girls own fault, because they were half naked and wearing perfume,' Mr Abu-Yusuf told Russian TV according to Breitbart.
'It is not surprising the men wanted to attack them. [Dressing like that] is like adding fuel to the fire'.

These are the words of an ignorant person. It does not matter that he is a muslim, but ok media..... I'm sure certain people of all religions have a similar response to this, and other tragedies.

False. The religion itself cannot be more hateful, nor unhateful than it was from the start. Islam's teachings remain how they were since it's inception. You are confusing the current state of middle eastern countries and how they treat women within the religion itself, which is really stupid. Islam does not promote misogyny, it actually gives women respect, and much more, but you are ignorant and haven't done your research, so you wouldn't know what women are worth in Islam.

You're comparing a religious figure to a political figure ?

Those replying with borderline Islamophobia, just take a minute to juxtapose this with your typical white, conservative Christian. Similar sentiment, victim blaming and, most of all, an example of the rampant ignorance among Abrahamic religions.
This is the Muslim version of your conservative, Bible-bashing Christian. Let's stop with the Islamophobia and blatant current of racism and do what everybody else does and pay it no attention.

No, the religion itself and how it influences the society/politics CAN change over time, for the better or worse. The problem with current middle Eastern/other countries whose major population believe in Islam IS the religion ITSELF having too much power & control over their populations. And you wouldn't want to get into how its religious leaders themselves have had decades and centuries of history defending Sharia & misogynistic behaviors, which would be considered unacceptable in any modern, civilized society.

Didn't Muhammed rape an under-age girl in the Quran?
Here's a quote from the Quran btw:
The Quran, chapter 4 (An-Nisa), verse 34:
Quote:
Men have authority over women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand. — translated by Abdullah Yusuf Ali

So yes, the religion itself is hateful and misogynist
