Were the 80's the best gay decade in music & fashion so far?
Yes I know it was a more conservative time since we are going back in time. I know there was no gay marriage (or even a conversation about it) and less gay acceptance from the general public. But when it came to music and style, gay style was very popular. I think that many gay artist (and straight) that paved the way for many people to accept gays in the mainstream and let them know that we do exist.
We had popular gay artist like Boy George, George, Michael Freddie Mercury (Queen) and so may huge one hit wonders that were gay or just seemed gay. Then there were artist like Prince, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran and many others who did look kind of gay.
Then you have so many guys (straight and gay) who wore light colors clothes (lots of pink, light blue and yellow), tight pants and shirts in fashion some even wear make up.
I mean look at this gay silliness LOL I love it... Only in the 80's.

Lol those pictures are cute and I love most of those queer icons from the videos but the whole aesthetic doesn't change the fact that the whole LGBT+ community used to be completely hated and discriminated during that time.

It was "great" cause lots of gay iconic moments were born in this decade... But (except you were in the NYC underground scene) it wasn't easy being gay at this time.
I love it... Only in the 80's. 
It was also one of the most homophobic decades.
