The 80s were actually pretty gay looking back at it but the funny thing is people didn't even consider it to be that way at the time. Like they all thought they were being totally ~heterosexual being flamboyant as all hell. But yeah, with the AIDS crisis it was socially a very bad time for gays

But seriously, this decade is super comparable to the 80's in terms of music. Most of the music was synthesized and heartless and aside from the true obvious standout stars that debuted like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince, and Bon Jovi to name a few, most of the popstars were super forgettable and bland like the ones are now.
