I feel like this has become quite an issue in colleges today. How do u feel about them? Are they stupid and useless? Do they help people? explain

At the colleges I've attended, I have yet to understand their purpose but have seen PLENTY of stickers and what-not advertising them. Like I'm going to just walk in and say "Hey I'm gay, help" or something?

colleges should be safe in the sense that you can say what you want to say without being physically attacked for it...

but college is the last place that should be a "safe space". You're supposed to have your views challenge. If you live in a bubble where you surround urself with groupthink sheep who mirror what you think & believe, you're gonna be a failure and you're a *****

I don't see a difference between this and any other clubs based upon the idea of gathering based on similar interests. In this case, the interest is not being harassed for being the person they are.

Its purpose is just to try and make people feel comfortable in a subtle way. You can't reach everybody and some kids are deeply closeted. It's a small gesture that offers support. Not sure why some of you are so determined to mock it when it's not hurting anybody

i guess people can do what they want to make themselves feel better, but it seems like you'd have to be pretty delicate to go for that, and i can't imagine it really being good to encourage that

I rarely associate with anyone besides my suitemate bc it is kind of embarrassing and we have to be so careful with what we say. You get kicked out if you don't know how to pronounce someone's pronouns

Considering these "safe spaces" were infringing upon other peoples right of free speech no. There is literally no purpose of them and they may be the most coddling idea ever conjured.
