What are some good excuses to get out of work?



I do contract work, and I'm assigned at this particular site this week. It's far away, I start very early in the morning each day, has awful coworkers and the work that has to be done will be frustrating and just **** in general. I've been doing this location for the past week and I've seriously had it. I'm really sleep deprived and I just want to treat myself.

My work is pretty lax with people calling up to get out of work but I still need a legitimate excuse. Need to get out of three days. What should I say? I'm a nineteen year old male if that helps.

The truth - just say you need to take some time off for personal reasons; if they request specifics just let them know that you are getting burned out and it's compromising your health and will effect your work if you don't look out for yourself.

If you manage your time well and have a good attendance record, performance and work ethic, this should not be an issue for any reasonable employer.

Unless you believe in karma, the death excuse works all the time. My boss thinks I have two dead grandmothers, an aunt with cancer and a brother who was in a car accident. Next I'm planning on faking my death.
