Everywhere i go: facebook, twitter, tumblr, tv show forums, everyone is saying that it's the best season and the scariest? why?
I agree that's it's the most giffable season and it has the best opening credits but i don't think it's the best season. I think the first season and Coven are a bit better.
Because it has more elements of horror than other seasons, the setting is really interesting, characters are perfectly played, it has really intense, shocking and unexpected moments, and it has some heartbreaking scenes.

Because it's the scariest season. Lana being trapped in Leatherface's Lair has got to be one of the most intense moments, true horror story masterpiece. Also, Shelly being disfigured >>>>>
It's also the most masc season so that's why the GP loves it so much.

I agree 100%. Its a MASTERPIECE and one of the best things i've ever seen on Television. Ryan truly outdid himself in Asylum
I think AHS caters for a wide range of people. Every season gives you that. Murder House with the story. Asylum with the darkness. Coven with the bitchy girls. Freakshow with the Freaks and this season is more about glamour and very bloody. It will depend on the individual in what the enjoy the most in a show which what will make them decide what season was best. Hence the huge disagreements
I did not like Coven at all! It was pointless and I really can't connect with the ones saying that it was the best! Asylum is the definition of American Horror Story!
Asylum is not only the best season of the show, it's one of the best television series of all time. The whole thing was perfect from the first episode to the last one (the most perfect episode in AHS).
