It's one of the best things to have ever graced TV. It was TRULY a scary series, from mutilation to serial killers. Each of the characters had so much depth and were extremely well-fleshed out; they had so many different dimensions to them that I honestly found myself begging towards the end that they would be okay. Not only this, but the series did what, imo, the other ones failed to do; they really showed the darkness of humanity itself. Yes, you have had elements of this in each of the other seasons, but with Asylum they kinda moved away from the supernatural + fantasy elements of the show and geared it more towards depicting how evil we humans actually are. Okay, there was
the whole aliens and demon sequence, but the stuff about Leatherface, Lana killing her son and Jude's storyline
was just so fantastically done and definitely took precedent in this series. American Horror Story will never be able to top this series, and I very much doubt that any other show, barring LOST and How to Get Away With Murder, will be able to either.
It was also a good series cause Taissa Farmiga wasn't in it
