For most of my life, I tend to make one of two types of friends.

The first type, is the friend that hangs out with you a lot for a period of time, and then pays you dust and completely ignores you when they find something or someone "better". I call this the "Opportunistic Friend".

The second type, is the friend that almost kind of looks up to you, but doesn't leave your side and is conjoined at your hip. Sounds nice at first, but you find yourself not being able to go anywhere without them wanting to tag along, not being able to talk to anyone at school without them standing right next to you, waking up to 10+ text messages from them asking to hang out for the 1347013870th time, etc. I call this the "Clingy Friend".

Sometimes, I feel like I can't win. I'm currently waiting for the day I can befriend someone whose personality lies in the middle of these two opposites.

So ATRL, which type of friend is more annoying?

Clingy friend because I am the Opportunistic Friend, not my fault if I can find someone better

(Just kidding, but I am not great at keeping relationships so I rather just let them go)

I wouldn't call the 'Opportunistic friend' a friend actually... Doesn't make sense. So by default you've only given us one option and I don't mind clingy people as long as I'm not in a romantic relationship with them.

Clingy. I've dealt with both and clingy was SO much worse especially since the majority of the times they're clingy because they have mental problems.

The first one, because they're not genuinely interested in you.

The Opportunist Friend easily. I've had far too many of them. At least with Clingy Friends they're reliable I guess.

So opportunistic but idk I wouldn't count them as a friend. More like an acquaintance who occasionally makes time for you
