
That video was awful. It shouldn't have been made, if only for the fact that it was just painful to watch. Completely missing it's intention of humour, instead it's just awkward.
Also, it's unrealistic to voluntary and knowingly push an image for a vast majority of your career and be annoyed when people base their perception of you off of that. You may be the most talented singer out there, but if most of what you present yourself as is, for instance, someone who relies on autotune-heavy music, people will form their perception of you off of that and not of other characteristics. It's unfortunate but it's what people realistically do.
In so many videos/performances/single covers, Nicki draws primary attention to her butt, and she's allowed to do that, but people can't be annoyed that when others think of Nicki, one of the first things that have defined her image has been her butt.
