She's a feminist by her very definition. She's just afraid of the stigma that comes with the term feminism (also known as the feminazis) that society has perpetuated with the phrase.

i kinda understand what she's saying but feminism DOES strive for full equality between men and women, feminism IS the inclusiveness that people like her strive for, even tho she doesn't recognize that there is no real difference

that's why we have established the idea of patriarchy and male dominance in society, feminism is the counterbalance

Yes, the literal definition of feminism makes her a feminist, but in the REAL WORLD people associate it with some sort of activism. If they're not attached to the activist part, they usually don't identify with the term. It's really that simple.

And on top of that, most aren't aware of the literal definition anyway, which makes them ignorant, not stupid.

The first response in this thread already covered the reason why people are weary of the word "feminism" and it's not because they don't associate themselves with activism. They just don't know what feminism is.

Also, if it fits the "literal definition," then that's the fact. Your "real world" definition is just popular belief or perception over an actual fact.
