Set in the fantasy world of Spira, the game's story revolves around a group of adventurers and their quest to defeat a rampaging monster known as Sin. The player character is Tidus, a blitzball star who finds himself in Spira after his home city of Zanarkand is destroyed by Sin. Shortly after arriving to Spira, Tidus joins the summoner Yuna on her pilgrimage to destroy Sin.

What Final Fantasy X fan doesn't swoon at Tidus' perfect bod (and cringe at his voice), fall in love with Yuna's innocence and strength, Lulu's iconic belt outfit and powerful magic, Wakka's biceps

and blitzball enthusiasm, Kimhari's... hmm, Auron's powerful sword, and Rikku's carefree yet bad-ass nature?
The story is actually quite heart-wrenching with some sad moments, depending on how attached you are to the story. I remember literally getting teary, the first time I played, when I learnt that
Yuna defeating Sin meant she would die
and then even more so during the ending. A very moving game overall with beautiful cut-scenes with graphics that hold up 15 years later.
Note: This isn't a thread to talk about Final Fantasy games you like more.
