Yeah. Shinra's theory is that the life energy from the pyreflies in the Farplane can be used as electricity to fuel a city and such in FFX-2.

The Shin-ra corporation in VII are the descendants of the Shinra of Spira about a thousand years after FFX/X-2, when it's possible to space travel. Somewhere down the line they use the energy from the Farplane and Shinra's invention to travel to another planet to set up the Shin-ra corp.

So the theory is.

Currently playing through, and just up to Mt. Gagazet. I have always flopped so hard cause I was always lazy and fled battles so every boss battle was a BEAST, but it's been so easy.

I just bet Seymour outside Bevelle so easily after using reflect on everyone, so good. Though with the expert Sphere Grid, dunno what exactly Kimhari is supposed to be doing. Does he not have his own default?

No. Go get 'Steal' though, it's useful for him. Other than that I usually sent him down Yuna's so I can use his MP to heal after random battles

Mahri is underrated. Get Steal and take him through Tidus to get haste and some things and get all his Lancet abilities.

He can turn into a solid backup or a good main.

The only reason I didn't continue was because I can't do those butterflies to get his celestial.

My niece is six years old currently which is the age I was when the original came out. I'm currently going through the HD version with her (we hand the controller back and forth because bosses intimidate her). She is really loving it and it makes me so happy because I know the exact enjoyment she is getting out of it.
