I didn't. I only talk to people when they initiate conversation.

Well, I just talk to them like they are any ordinary person I usually start with the guys in my table

I never had the guts to approach people, in uni I spent an entire semester with my headphones in but join an activity and youll have to meet people

I'm terrible at making friends

I have two different friend groups, one i'm friends with because when I was like 8 this girl was being nice to me and we just became friends and by extension I was friends with that group (she's actually not in the group anymore but w/e ).

The other group it's a similar story. When I started High School (11 years old here), I didn't really have that many friends and this girl started being nice to me and we became friends (we're not anymore, it's a whole orange juice story ), and she was friends with another group so now i'm really good friends with them.

I've never actually set out to make friends, it's just happened by people being nice to me.

I... don't. People must approach me in order for me to talk to them. I am not outgoing in that way at all

Don't be shy. That's the only way you'll make friends. But niners are ****ers. Just stay a loner and become a nerd to be honest!

I wanted guy friends in the start of high school too so that I could appear as straight and feel more secure with myself, but I only ended up making lasting friendships with girls. This is probably a confusing time for you, you'll figure yourself out soon enough.

Like I made a new friend in my new psychology class. Basically, this girl came rushing late into the class out of breath and I just found it so funny. She realised I was smiling so she sat next to me had lunch together and now we're friends :toofunny2;

I mean, I made new friends during HS too but, people would just talk to me or my group of friends, I've never been the type to talk to someone to befriend them.
Just be nice and try to have little chit chats until you're comfortable enough to have actual conversations. A simple "hi" or a comment here and there.

Plus boys tend to be easier to talk to. Don't be afraid, nothing can go terribly wrong, I'm sure you will have lots of friends soon
