A bill to change the Federal Constitution and legalize gay marriage in the country passed both major committees and now it heads back to Parliament who will fine tune the proposal and submit a text for a future referendum.
All polls suggest at least 2/3 of the Swiss support the measure and Switzerland was the first to approve a gay partnership law through a public vote in 2005 (they believe in direct democracy so almost all laws are subject to public approval).
C'mon, Schweiz!
