I mean in theory we shouldn't care but I do, kind of. I'd like my parents to be more accepting so I can come out. Neither are hardcore homophobes but they say questionable things sometimes. As for my grandmother I just accept that she was raised under a different mindset...she's 85 and I love her regardless.

None of my immediate family members are seriously homophobic, luckily. If they were I would probably still love them. It would hurt that they wouldn't approve of me as a person but they're still family.

I think my grandmother and dad already know because everyone knows everything in this island in which I live in (well to be honest is not like I live in the shadows, I literally go with my boyfriend everywhre) and my grandmother is very religious, and to be honest, I love her but I'm not going to be sad or cry because she doesnt accept me, she's been ignoring me as of lately, and that doesnt hurt me 1 bit, I keep living my life and im happy without negative people in it.

I'm lucky because, despite my family being catholic on both sides, they're all fairly accepting.

My grandparent's generation struggle a little, though their views have actually progressed in recent years. Like my grandparents used to be anti-gay marriage but now they're for it. The only thing they really have an issue with is gay people sleeping together, like I heard my aunt say that whilst she loves her nephew and his partner, she'd struggle if they asked to stay at her house in the spare room.

I still love her, because I understand that she was raised in a different mindset. She'll be gone in a few years and her mindset will go with her because all her children don't share it.

I feel about it just like I feel about family members who are right-wing. I love them, because they're my family, and I know they're not bad people. Just misguided. I just avoid the issue.

None of my relatives are homophobes, though even if they were, as long as they don't constantly bug or harass me about my sexuality they wouldn't be blacklisted from my Christmas list.
