Ellen Page Confronts Senator Ted Cruz at Iowa State Fair
Quote:
While Sen. Ted Cruz was grilling pork chops at the Iowa State Fair today, actress Ellen Page, wearing a hat and sunglasses, snuck her way up to the grill and asked the GOP presidential candidate about “the persecution of gays in the workplace and LGBT rights.” ABC News caught the exchange. “What about the question about LGBT people being fired for being gay-trans?” Page asked. “Well, what we’re seeing right now, we’re seeing Bible-believing Christians being persecuted for living according to their faith,” Cruz responded. “You’re discriminating against LGBT people,” Page, 28, said. “Well, would you use that argument in segregation?” “Now I’m happy to answer your question, but not to have a back-and-forth debate,” said Cruz, a devout Christian who has said he believes that marriage is between one man and one woman. The Texas senator, 44, went on to argue today that “no one has the right to force someone else to abandon their faith and their conscience.” “Imagine, hypothetically, you had a gay florist and imagine two evangelicals wanted to get married and they decide, ‘You know what, I disagree with your faith and I don’t want to provide flowers,’” Cruz posed to Page. Cruz and Page, both Canadian-born, spoke for over five minutes. Afterward, ABC News asked Cruz whether he knew it was Page and he said no. He described the conversation to us as being about religious liberty.
He said she confronted Cruz not dragged him. She didn't do very well especially at the end. Sounded like she was just reading liberal talking points and Ted has heard them all.

So dumb. Evangelicals wouldn't even go near a gay florist.
What if they didn't know they were gay, in his broader point, which you all seemed to miss, he also pointed out a rabbi should not be forced to perform a Christian wedding. He also dragged her to hell and back on ISIS and Iran killing gays and her response was what Jamaica? She had no answers only talking points. Maybe she should stay in Canada and out of our politics because she didn't do the left any good with that display.

So we should be grateful that we are second class citizens to some since we aren't being murdered by our government? That was a deflection on his part that had NOTHING to do with anything.

No I am saying she didn't come prepared. He is a pro she is an actress.
I honestly can't stand activist actors/actresses/musicians on either side. I watch their movies and listen to their music to escape and I don't need to be reminded of their stupid comments when I see or hear them. I say this because very few are active enough to know the issues and are smart enough to articulate them without making themselves look foolish.

You are correct. She is not good at debate and, for an actress, an abysmal public speaker lol.
