So true, A gay person will probably only be accepted if they play so exceptionally that them being gay can't be thought of as a hindrance to their ability to play like a "normal player".
Also there's definitely more to what happened with Michael behind the scene. I remember reading that the Dallas Cowboys only signed him to get good PR. In the end they dropped him.
