Raven was so rude to Candace. Not even letting the girl get her point across. Candace is actually right, though. There is a difference between not baking a cake for someone just because they're gay (which is discrimination and should be illegal), and not baking a cake that you know will be used at a celebration of something that violates your religious beliefs.

She's really not. This has been misconstrued heavily by the liberal media to make it look like they refused to serve the couple just because they were gay. That's not the point. It's a matter of their constitutional right to practice Christianity and not perform acts that violate their beliefs. Marriage has significant religious connotations within Christianity, and if a Christian company doesn't want to associate themselves with something that they feel infringes on their beliefs, that's their prerogative.

Asking a Christian bakery to bake a cake for a gay wedding is like asking a Muslim bakery to design a cake with the image of Mohammed, or asking a Jewish restaurant to serve pork at the wedding.

I loved Raven for this! Candace spreading her ignorance and hate and not understanding that there's a thing called separation of church and state. You don't have to agree with your customer's life choices, but you will respect and serve them if they come to your establishment with intent on giving you their hard earned cash for your services. It's pretty simple and respectful. Not to mention humane.

Some people have integrity and don't accept any money that comes their way. If a Christian bakery does not want to bake a cake for a wedding that they feel disrespects their religion, that is their constitutional right due to the First Amendment. They did not refuse service because the couple was gay. They refused service because they were asked to bake a cake for a gay wedding. Huuuuuge difference, even if you don't think there is.

Separation of church and state has to do with the laws of our country, not the rights of a privately-owned company to not do things that they feel violate their religious beliefs.

I am aware of discrimination laws, and they weren't violated in this case. The bakery refused to bake the cake not because of who requested it, but what it was being used for. Let's reverse the roles. If a Christian organization came to a bakery owned by a gay couple and requested they design a cake to be used at an anti-gay marriage protest party (and let's take it a step further: the cake would have a blatantly anti-gay message written on it), would the couple be out of line to refuse to do that?

Whoopi disagreed with Candace as well, but you don't see me calling her rude.
