Yeah. I couldn't even get a job this summer, though that's mostly due to my college not telling me when I'm going back and all since I applied for an early job there but none of us who applied have heard anything. The theater I worked at for 3 and a half years closed down in an ugly financial and political dispute and won't open until I'm already gone; nowhere else is currently hiring except two places within an hour of me, and neither is willing to hire me knowing my college might at any time tell me I'm coming back almost a whole month early. Sucks.

It's pointless for most of us. We get paid almost nothing while prices of things continue to rise; those under 18 don't really have college expenses to save for; and there's a trade-off between most jobs and doing just about anything social. They expect teens to work a minimum of 20 hours, but often have us work the normal 40 hours as if we're adults.
I'm not arguing against working - this summer is the first summer I've been unemployed since I was 14, and it's only because I'm home from college and have a potential pre-season job there that they have yet to do hiring for. I know the benefits of working early. I'm just offering a viewpoint.
