Her voice makes the song. The way it flows to the rhythm is really cool.

I don't mind that some of you are underwhelmed upon first listen. I really connect with these songs so I'm completely satisfied. Tori is an artist and a vocalist who knows exactly who she is.

If that's what she wants to sing about and she has the backing of her manager (Scooter Braun) and label (Capital Records), that's good enough for me.

Is anything truly original anymore? Is originality really the mark of a good track anyway? Today's musical landscape would probably say no.

I don't get why everyone is dragging her in this thread. Aren't album threads usually filled with fans that love the album, anyways? I love that Funny is on the album, and the live version too. It's sooo pretty. And personally I love Expensive.

I love the album so far.

The singles and Expensive (the next single ) are obviously amazing
The intro is beautiful and representative of Tori and her sound
First Heartbreak and the Ed collab are simple, but really good and well written
I was happy to see Funny on the album and I'm also really glad she kept the acoustic version instead of adding unecessary elements to it to make a studio version
Talk is good and will probably grow on me
The only song I don't like so far is City Dove.

But it's a solid 3.5 / 4 star album to me so far. Maybe the people that complained hadn't listened to her EP and expected an album full of Nobody Love - type songs. That was never gonna happen though. I expected the album to be simple and ballad heavy / acoustic and it delivered

I have both her EPs actually and I love them. I agree with the 3.5 but I was expecting a 4.5 atleast. Like I said, I'm only tragically disappointed because my expectations were obviously too high. I'm a huge fan. Hopefully it does really well regardless.

Now I was definitely expecting more NL bops on the album and was most definitely disappointed in the first listen through. Listening through it again today for the 2nd time and I must say its a cute solid album!!! I'm growing into the laid back feel of the album with a couple of cute bops.

Only with less quality music. X is a mind-blowing album, she should've recorded that. Overall I'm disappointed with Tori's album. I liked pre-mainstream Tori a LOT more. The rawness has been taken away, she is more of a product now than an actual artist. I miss the EP type of songs.

Half of the album has the exact same feel, vibe and sound of her pre-NL music though

There's a difference between a song not being avant-garde and a song I feel like I've heard a hundred times before, with familiar melodies and production.

I don't know what you guys listened to but this album is amazing! Vocals and production are on point.

This is very underwhelming, she is so damn talented and I know she can deliver better than this tho. I only liked the Ed feature and City Dove which is incredible tbh.

I was made for loving you may be my favourite of the new songs but the title is probably by favourite of all. I think it's beautiful and powerful. The album is obviously amazing but Idk if many ATRLers or people who got into her because of Max or NL will get it.
