Her album sales weren't bad, so I doubt she'll get dropped. But her label and managemet did spend a lot of money on promo, so I doubt they made a profit.
Her pop/rock rendition of Should've Been Us at the VMA's last night was really good. The problem I had with her from the beginning is that she was the definition of a boring performer. She's a great vocalist and her melismas are nice, but they're not really enough to make her stand out from the pack.
However, the VMA's was such a travesty last night that it was really refreshing to see someone with raw talent put forth a good performance. For the first time, she actually incorporated energy.
It's a shame that the studio version of Should've Been Us has such weak production, I would totally buy the song if it had the crazy electric guitars like she had in the performance.
She sounds great singing pop/rock. She should rebrand herself and go with an edgier image/sound. Her current stuff is just kind of a snoozefest.
