With today's medical advances it seems that sooner or later someone will come up with a treatment, preventative or corrective, that will "cure" homosexual orientations.

Do you think this will happen in our lifetimes? Or will it fail due to insufficient research or legal and ethical concerns?

I have a boyfriend who loves me and great friends who respect me and treat me the same, regardless of my orientation. I'm comfortable with who I am at this point in my life. When I do come out and have to deal with the consequences (if any) I'll deal with them in stride and with the support of people who ACTUALLY care about me.

I'll survive and continue to push forward. Block out the negativity and focus on the positivity.

Not being proud of yourself as a gay man/woman is awful. I don't define myself for being gay, I define myself for my personality, by being loyal to my friends and loud and sassy. That's ME, that's who I AM.

So I wouldn't take the pill, even if it got out and worked amazing. My family loves me, I love them, I love my friends and my boyfriend, I love my life as it is.

Current scientific consensus that orientation is a myriad of genetic influences and environmental ones. It's probably literally impossible to prevent an orientation, and it's definitely impossible to intentionally mold an existing one in a living person past puberty.

Playing Devil's advocate and pretending that this is a possibility: no, I would not take it. I'm secure in myself.
