Not true at all. It's been said numerous times by others before but I'll say it again: the word has been reclaimed and is used as a term of endearment for people in the black community. It's nothing offensive about it when black people say it. HOWEVER, when other cultures use it, it is offensive as they don't come from that same background and therefore the word does not mean the same thing, whether they want it to or not.

The song hasn't met controversy because it isn't really known.

I don't think this is a case of the double standard. Jennifer Lopez received some backlash when she used the N word on the remix of I'm Real.
