I don't know but I find people coming to visit NYC from other countries are generally rude. They trash pretty much everything then get upset if you tell them something about it.

I have never met a rude American, but they are very arrogant sometimes

As an American, I will say that it depends on where you are. LIke if you're in New York don't expect a warm welcome

I know I'm American but I'm a minority plus I've travelled the US fairly extensively.

It's 300+ million people, sis. There ARE nasty people everywhere and there are extremely nice people everywhere. Chances are you'll run into more nice people... and people will reflect off your own behavior.

While there are a lot of rude people, there's definitely an American culture that appreciates hospitality and kindness and it will not be hard to find. In my whole life here I've always met extremely nice strangers wherever I've gone. California, Indiana, New York, Ohio, Alaska, Tennessee, etc.

Just as other countries. There are rude and friendly people.

Where I live, it is very populated and everybody has a rush-rush-rush attitude in their daily lives... It doesn't leave much room for friendliness.

It's very hard to generalize a whole country. Most Americans, in my opinion, will act friendly to your face but be rude behind your back.

I'm mexican, i've been in the US lots of times, as much as i'd like to say they're rude... my personal experience is that they're extremely polite and kind.


Always apologizing, excusing themselves, smiling, etc. Especially (ironically) white people.

There is a reason Rude Boy peaked at #1 on the Hot 100 in the US.
