It's funny because I study Anthropology so I'm always on Anthropology forums.
And there are always threads about what Latin American Countries are whiter and which are blacker and I kid you not the Latin members of those forums almost flip their **** when you bring up how black some of the people are in those countries, but they'll have a pissing contest over whose country is whiter.
But I also think it's not fair to alot of Latinos to say they hate their blackness just because they won't say they're black. You have to remember people saying that they're black is itself a product of colonialism. Black people weren't born black they were told they were black. So it's not fair to say they have self hate because they chose their particular racial categories specific to their countries. Its true there is alot of anti-blackness in Latin America, but to me someone saying they're not black, but still acknowledging and being proud of their African Ancestry is different from denying it and pretending youre better than black people just because you might be a little more mixed.

Well im not saying per say that they have to claim that they are Black if they are indeed mixed. What im trying to express that there are some that are
VISIBLY and
CLEARLY Black, but yet they still deny. I know that Latin America is extremely racially mixed, but there are still a lot of Hispanics with mostly one type of race/bloodline e(Just like in America)
I think it's horrible. I mean maybe looking at the bigger picture here,we shouldn't just be focused on the Hispanic community, but Black people as a whole. Still this is something that gets swept under the rug, because Afro-Hispanics are so under-represented. When we think racism against Black people, everyone minds usually goes straight to the U.S,but it happens in these other places too.
