The important thing is that Lady Gaga was immediately labeled Madonna's rival. Why ? Britney wasn't labelled The new Queen of Pop, she was labeled The princess of pop, whereas Gaga was labelled the new Queen of Pop from the moment she became huge and was portrayed by ALL MEDIA as
Madonna's rival. Only 2 years vs. Madonna's 30 years, yet Gaga was portrayed as Madonna's rival and the GP see her as the new queen of pop, including people in real life who has told me "Gaga surpassed Madonna, right? " and I am like "Where did you hear that

When has Madonna went on a live show "fighting" with a new star as if they are her rival ?
Y'all can say whatever you want, but Madonna has never, ever been affected by anyone like she was affected by Gaga. And the simple fact that Madonna's manager was asked "How do you discover a new Madonna " in the sense of being the biggest thing on earth + having acclaim, touring and selling records all at once and her manger was like "Ask Troy Carter"
We all know why this "war" will never end. Madonna fans have never acted like that against any other artist, I wonder why
And even tho all the comparisons between Gaga and Madonna, they are super different and that's the thing that scares Madonna and her fans the most.
So yeah. People on ATRL can keep living in their own buble, I have friends who don't like pop and only listen to Snoop Dog and **** like that and they've been like "Gaga is more successful than Madonna" which of course is utter BS, but it's still an impression they have. And that's the reason for the stan wars.

Madonna was trying to hop on the "Gaga wave" in 2010, but then Gaga just became too big, Gaga was no longer a tool for Madonna, Gaga was a weapon, hence why Madonna became so vile in 2011.
When has Madonna given someone so much attention, peforming their song every single night at their smash tour ? Never. All of this is for a reason and the reason is not because Gaga copied Madonna. Artists have copied artists for decades, including Madonna being copied by others and her copying others. This is not it, it's not the reason, the only reason is as I already said - Lady Gaga just came in the right moment, with the right music, with the enormeous talent etc. and she is the biggest threat Madonna has ever seen, and if she was OVER, we wouldn't have been in this thread.
