No, because even though gender identity and sexual orientation are separate issues all LGBT people face discrimination based on the fact that we challenge traditional gender norms.
The struggles are different, but still connected.
And the LGBT rights movement was spearheaded by trans women of color so it seems a biT ungrateful to try and toss them to the side like that.
It is a good point, but I'm not sure how to answer.
I'll say that as a trans woman it irritates me when somebody claims to be LGBT-friendly and excludes the T when they say that, or when they talk about LGBT things but only discuss sexuality.
I'm not sure, it is a very different category that's for sure.
Trans people are very behind LGB in terms of societal knowledge and understanding, and trans issues are much more controversial ethically than sexuality even within the trans community. I'd lean towards yes.
