I don't know, i feel like i have seen her everywhere lately yet no one seems to care and buy her albums and singles since Boom Clap.
Why is she flopping with all the spotlight she's been getting? Her album Sucker is not even in the top 1500 of iTunes and she performed at the MTV Movie Awards days ago
Plus, I'm a fan but she's unlikeable, pretentious, has no charisma, and she isn't great in live performances so her promo doesn't really help her. It's a shame, her music is great.

That's true. Maybe people don't like her except her fans ofc.

Ok, please note that this is just MY opinion on why she's flopping and it's a long post but it has been bugging me for a while because it's obvious her label is promoting her and she's still not selling.

Her label was smart for releasing this song after the success of "Fancy". The video was great and it was also part of the soundtrack for The Fault In Our Stars which was a box office success. Everything went well thus far.

This is where things started going wrong. The song (produced by Stargate) should have been a 'sure-fire' hit. The video was similar to "Fancy" and the song itself is pretty generic but it still couldn't sell. Her team should have realized that this pop-rock rebellious teen image wasn't working and switched up their game plan.
Sucker was originally scheduled to be released in October but then they pushed the album back in December. They should have planned to release the album in September/October and just stuck with that release (they later postponed the UK release date as well) when no matter what she was going to get weak openings.
Their focus should have shifted into making sure the third single (which would have been released after the album release) would be another hit like "Boom Clap" and help shift album units even though they would have anticipated weak openings.
"Die Tonight" should have been the third single instead of "Doing It" because it's better suited for the winter season and it would have soften her image again back to the 'good girl' that she had in "Boom Clap". Not only that the chorus is extremely radio friendly with the "na-na-na na Die Tonight" so pop radio would have embraced it. It wouldn't have been a big hit, but it would have done enough during the radio freeze until her fourth single "Famous".
(A lot of fans wanted "Need Ur Luv" or "Caught In the Middle" and they could have worked too but I think "Die Tonight" was the safer better and would have more longevity. The other songs are risky since they don't sound like anything else on the radio and at this point of her album tanking she didn't need another risk. "Die Tonight" gets the job done and that's what they should have went with.
Instead her team thought they were being smart by getting Rita Ora on a remix to "Doing It" since "Black Widow" by Iggy did well and Rita is successful in the UK. However they should have known that it wouldn't work (Rita still hasn't happened yet for herself so why try and use her to push Charli?) and should have banked on pushing Charli alone since she'll need to establish herself as more than just a hook girl or someone that needs features to sell. Instead they wasted more finances getting Rita on the song and in the video.
At the very least they should have just kept Charli's solo version of "Doing It" because Rita Ora added NOTHING to the song except more expenses.
The final nail in the coffin was releasing the bad video to "Famous" and her recent live performance at the MTV Movie Awards didn't help. Her outfit wasn't flattering, her vocals were flat. A lot of fans again really liked the video to "Famous" for its satire content however does satire content = people purchasing the song and streaming the video?

Really? The video is a JOKE the kids barely watch it. All she had to do was have a house party video with some outdoor shots of her having fun in Cali or something and it would have done better. She also needs better live performances and some sort of movie/commercial to help plug this song on TV.
She had a Pepsi commercial for "Doing It" but where's the commercial for "Famous"?
Her team already used a lot of money promoting the hell out of her last year and this year, I don't think there's enough in the budget for a fifth single.
Her best bet would be make a video for "Die Tonight" and promote that to be a big song in the summer. It still has an anthemic chorus that might pick up on radio and get her some coins to hold her until her next era. She needs a good video (outdoor scenes) and some day time TV performances but they can manage that.
The fact she genuinely believes she's changing the music industry as we know it and that she's leading a revolution against bubblegum, plus she comes across as thinking she's better than other people and doesn't even try to make herself relatable. Yet again, I love her music but she makes it really hard to love her as a person, so she'll never get a personally involved stanbase like Katy or even someone like Gaga
That's really bad. She doesn't deserve it. I haven't listened to her album, but Doing It should have been a moderate hit, at least.
Well no, because I hate that song, but Famous deserved much better, Breaking Up would be a ready-made hit if she let Sky Ferreira sing a verse or something, and Need Ur Love screams single
I love her so I'm glad she in constantly getting great promo but I have no idea why she is not selling. I mean I don't buy her stuff but I actively stream her on my paid service so that counts

I wouldn't really call her any more pretentious or any worse at live performances than most other established pop acts today.

The two main ones (EMAs and MTV Movie Awards) were awful, when she sang Famous the staging was a trainwreck and she sounded like she had a cold/sore throat, she didn't connect with the viewer and she undersold the song.
None of the other girls would ever, even lessor girls like Miley can put on a show and Britney would never allow herself to be opened up to such criticism.

Well considering that Charli and Rita both had huge top ten singles last year, their star power should have carried it to somewhere on the Hot 100 at least.
