Q: Do you have to put yourself into the mindset of each artist?

McKee: It’s absolutely different for every artist. With some artists I can get away with lyrics, where I couldn’t get away with those same lyrics with other ones.
For instance working with Kesha, I can say something crazy. “Feeling like a saber tooth tiger” or “I’m in a crop top like I’m working at Hooters.” Crazy stuff like that because she’s a crazy, rambunctious, risk-taking artist. With someone like Kelly Clarkson, she’s very particular about her angle as far as never coming across too weak. She wants to be a very powerful female figure, so we stay away from being too vulnerable. Katy Perry is always going to be bright, fun, and sweet. Every artist has their own angle and flavor that you have to pull out.

Q: What are your plans for 2015?

McKee: I’m releasing an EP in June. I’m super excited about that. I’m making a video for every song, which is very ambitious, especially for an independent artist, but I loving being independent. It’s really fun to have complete creative control and not having anyone meddling. I get to set the timelines and I get to decide what it looks like and what it sounds like without any outside opinions other than the important ones of the people that I know and trust. It’s really fun to be a renegade pop artist and not have to play by the rules.

June 2018? But really if it does happen i will ****ing die. She should release this EP with studios of SLAY and her older tracks then go straight into the album in Sept/Oct with a few older tracks i.e. Forever 21, IWFCY, Hot City but mostly new stuff. PLEASE BONNIE DON'T LET ME DOWN.

Nothing was happening when she was with a major. She needs to put out EXCELLENT songs (which we know she has) and then catch interest of labels who are READY to make her a priority.
