The leading coalition has a NO stance so far. It's the main party + several other parties locked in a no vote.
There was even one party who always called for more gay rights, but when they joined the leading party in forming a government, they left gays out in the rain.

Well, Die Linke, Die Grünen, SPD and FDP are all in support for gay rights and gay marriage. The CDU/CSU is 40/60 I would say and the AFD is definitely against it. Our government likes to talk all day but they usually do nothing. The country is very supportive towards gay people but yeah... our government needs 20 years to discuss their 'problems' out.

Basically. I wouldn't say they country is very supportive tho. Yes, we definitely don't have it that hard anymore, getting jobs for example, but there is still a huge social stigma and homophobia happening.

The German-speaking countries will probably be second-to-last in Western Europe to introduce it, with Italy being last. The public polls are high, the courts rule for lgbt, it's just parliaments that tend to be more conservative on that topic.

as rbautz already said, we have "Eingetragene Partnerschaft" which is the same as marriage just not in a religious way

Dude why are you in every thread that discusses gay marriage laws in various countries? It's not like gays are being stripped of their human rights in countries that don't have it, and in some countries that do allow gay marriage, like Mexico and South Africa, I would argue that gays there are worse off than any Western European country. So what I'm saying is gay marriage laws don't mean ****

I usually start those threads I also edit wikipedia pages so I like to be in the know. In this case, the person asked a question and I explained

I know gay marriage is not the end all, looking at the US for example, people were afraid to be photographed even after winning cases because they could be fired while in others they don't offer marriage, but they are protected by their constitutions. It's obvious there is still work to do. Following court cases globally, I know all that, I just put in my own two cents.

What I meant by leaving them out in the rain is that the party that used to campaign hard stopped and they vote against lots of laws regarding LGBT not just marriage, it's a part of a coalition deal.

Idk. I wouldn't say Germany is very progressive, I heard about this movement occurring throughout Germany that is fighting the "islamization" of Europe
