This. I mean obviously Carls has no hype. It's not like the GP was waiting on a new Carly single with bated breath. Its two promo spots were for Good Morning America and Jimmy Kimmel; neither is that huge a draw—and it doesn't go to radio for another two weeks, for whatever reason.

Early to tell. And the top 20 excuse is because the song was #22 on iTunes and got green updates but iTunes didn't update for more than 10 hours and came lots of new releases which blocked the song from going top 20.

Why do you think Marina, Shawn, and Avril have failed to produce any hits? A fanbase will only carry you for the first week. Then it's up to the GP.

As for Shawn and Marina, I don't recall them even debuting in the Hot 100 (wait Shawn did in the 80s or 90s?). They got that high in iTunes thanks to preorders didn't they?
