OK guys! I need help! I started getting acne on my back and upper arms. WHAT?!

Get something like benzoyl peroxide.

Go to a dermatologist and get professional advice.

Anti-dandruff shampoo (when taking a shower - they normally contain zinc which helps) and moisturizer (after shower) did the trick for me. I've read it somewhere years ago.

I agree with anti dandruff shampoo. Helped me a bit

Try taking antibiotics. When I took them I stopped getting new ones

Also try kojic acid soap. It's what I'm using right now and I'm seeing a huge improvement

Depends on the cause of the acne, actually.

Why wouldn't it work? The active ingredient is salicylic acid, which is effective in treating acne.

My dermatologist made me use it for my back/face and it did wonders!!

I too find creams that contain benzoyl peroxide more effective, but it's quite hard to use since it's on your back. I suggest antibiotics.

Acne remedy: wash your face once in a while.

i agree - deffs try some BP

in my exp salicylic acid works but BP is just the gold standard - like some new BP washes kill bacteria (99% of them) in just 8 hours

what so unbelievable about having a dermatologist ?

acne is a medical condition sis - some people have it really bad - more power to those who have derms though cause they can be treated for other things like wrinkles or checked for skin cancer etc etc

but your 2nd point i agree with, OP after i started washing my face once a day i felt my face looked better in general - i think over washing leds to dry and more irritated skin tbh

i never had acne. I mean, like the occasional spot but never anywhere but my face.

if you're trying to get rid of specific spots quickly, use toothpaste it's not a myth it works. other than that go see a dermatologist and get prescribed something. store bought junk doesn't work and usually dries out surrounding skin, making future flare ups more common. (plus dry skin is ugly and gross)

That's something for movie stars, it's like saying "my chauffeur" or "my butler"

the derms or the acne? if the acne then 95% of the serve acne cases are genetics - and are factors beyond the affected persons control, like scientist already debunked the myth that fatty foods and chocolate causes acne.





d; sis this is the 21st century, derms aint that expensive and if you have a bad case what ever skin condition (e.g a common one that can be really bad - eczema) it may be then derms >>>GPs

Go to a dermatologist and ask for topical retinoids. They did wonders for me.
Aleppo soap is great too, but I think it's hard to acquire now because of the war in Syria. It smells really bad, but it's a miracle.
Also, stay moisturized! It's very important.

only weak correlations have been made to that claim, even up till recently derms thought that Vaseline clogged pores.

tbh even topical retinoids make you sensitive to the sun, thus has a chance of causing skin cancer too - you really cant win so you just have to choose whats best for you
