25 · SIA, "Chandelier"
Weeks on Chart: 7 Weeks
Peak Position: #02
Debut Date: September 20, 2014
Ultimately one of the best growers of 2014. After the groundbreaking "Titanium", Sia goes solo with "Chandelier". During the time it was released, I wasn't really appealed by it that much. Months after, it proved to be one of the vocally amazing tracks of the year. There's no doubting how awesome she was in this single.
♫ "I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist, like it doesn't exist. I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry." ♫
2013: KATY PERRY, "Roar" |
 |
24 · LORDE, "Team
Weeks on Chart: 15 Weeks
Peak Position: #01 (1 Week)
Debut Date: January 11, 2014
Lorde had an extravagant breakthrough last 2013 with "Royals". Though it might not be as successful as its predecessor, the song still saved Lorde from being a one-hit wonder. To be honest, I think I prefer this one more than "Royals". Sadly, I got tired of this track lately.
♫ "And everyone's competing for a love they won't receive. 'Cause what this palace wants is release." ♫
2013: ARIANA GRANDE, "Baby I" |
 |
23 · PITBULL f/ KE$HA, "Timber"
Weeks on Chart: 13 Weeks
Peak Position: #01 (1 Week)
Debut Date: November 30, 2013
Pitbull was able to maintain his Top 30 status as "Timber" lands at #23. The track has been my first favorite dance-pop hit for 2014 and that liking still doesn't fade up until now. No matter how people are annoyed with his music, I'd still dig for his releases. Ultimately catchy and undeniably fun-to-dance-with.
♫ "Let's make a night, you won't remember. I'll be the one, you won't forget." ♫
2013: BELLA FERRARO, "Set Me On Fire" |
 |
22 · AUSTIN MAHONE f/ PITBULL, "Mmm Yeah"
Weeks on Chart: 12 Weeks
Peak Position: #02
Debut Date: March 22, 2014
Shocking? Undeserving? No, I actually think Austin released the biggest guilty pleasure for 2014. This guy never fails to satisfy my dose of bubblegum pop hits. Despite how horrible the title is, "Mmm Yeah" is definitely a certified bop you cannot resist. Undeniably his best song to date.
♫ "Girl, I don't usually feel some type of way. But this one hear me out it's some kind of place." ♫
2013: LITTLE MIX, "Move" |
 |
21 · HUNTER HAYES, "Invisible"
Weeks on Chart: 7 Weeks
Peak Position: #01 (1 Week)
Debut Date: May 24, 2014
A socially relevant and inspirational country track misses the Top 20. I wasn't really into country but I pay attention to Hunter's releases. At first listen, the song sounded good but it was forgettable. Nevertheless, this track really gotten me months after it was released. The delivery was flawless. His best single to date.
♫ "These labels that they give you just 'cause they don't understand. If you look past this moment, you'll see you've got a friend." ♫
2013: LABRINTH f/ EMELI SANDE, "Beneath Your Beautiful" |
 |
ARIANA GRANDE f/ THE WEEKND, "Love Me Harder"
Best R&B/Soul Song Ever
Just for the simple reason that its R&B vibe revives the greatness of 90's music. Classic and nostalgic.
RUNNER-UP: SAM SMITH, "I'm Not The Only One" |

4/5 for this set!
I checked your previous sets, and I can't believe I totally forgot about Sirens.
Boom Clap, Ghost, Jealous, Thinking Out Loud and Find You I thought they would be higher though.

♫ "You lift my heart up, when the rest of me is down. You, you enchant me, even when you're not around." ♫ |
20 · DISCLOSURE f/ SAM SMITH, "Latch"
Weeks on Chart: 4 Weeks
Peak Position: #13
Debut Date: October 5, 2013
Sam Smith makes his first appearance in the Top 20. Despite being released as early as 2012, I only came across "Latch" late 2013 where it placed as one of the wannabes. Back then, I wasn't even rooting for it too hard cause I found it forgettable. Nevertheless, "Latch" has become one of the biggest growers for 2014. Thanks for everyone who went gaga over Sam this 2014.
2013: EMBLEM3, "Chloe (You're The One I Want)"
2012: FLO RIDA, "I Cry"
2011: TAYLOR SWIFT, "Sparks Fly"
2010: LADY ANTEBELLUM, "Need You Now"
2009: PIXIE LOTT, "Boys And Girls"
|

♫ "I see what it's like for day and night. Never together. Cause they see things in a different light like us. They never tried like us." ♫ |
19 · ONE DIRECTION, "You & I"
Weeks on Chart: 12 Weeks
Peak Position: #01 (1 Week)
Debut Date: April 19, 2014
It's been the third consecutive year that the biggest British boyband One Direction places within the Top 20. Sadly, this song broke their streaking of having consecutive "Honor Roll" entries on my list. Don't get me wrong, I actually love "You & I". It's an awesome pop ballad showcasing a tamer and more vulnerable side of the band. It actually sounds very classic and nostalgic.
2013: TAYLOR SWIFT, "22"
2012: OWL CITY f/ CARLY RAE JEPSEN, "Good Time"
2011: KERI HILSON, "Pretty Girl Rock"
2010: IYAZ, "Solo"
2009: COLBIE CAILLAT, "Fallin' For You" |

♫ "There was a time when I would have believed them. If they told me that you could not come true, just love's illusion." ♫ |
18 · SARA BAREILLES, "I Choose You"
Weeks on Chart: 12 Weeks
Peak Position: #01 (1 Week)
Debut Date: May 24, 2014
It's been 4 long years since we've seen Sara Bareilles in the Top 20 with "King Of Anything". This year, she released a very lovely and heartfelt single through "I Choose You". I admit it was late for me to appreciate "Brave", but this one is definitely a gazillion times better follow-up. I've always been a sucker for Sara's emotional ballads, but "I Choose You" is an outstanding feel-good track.
2013: AVRIL LAVIGNE, "Here's To Never Growing Up"
2012: FUN. f/ JANELLE MONAE, "We Are Young"
2011: BEYONCÉ, "Best Thing I Never Had"
2010: TAIO CRUZ, "Dynamite"
2009: DAVID ARCHULETA, "A Little Too Not Over You" |

♫ "Know with all of your heart, you can't shame me. When I am with you, there's no place I'd rather be." ♫ |
17 · CLEAN BANDIT f/ JESS GLYNNE, "Rather Be"
Weeks on Chart: 12 Weeks
Peak Position: #01 (2 Weeks)
Debut Date: February 15, 2014
My favorite house track of 2014 lands at #17. It's been the first track I heard from both acts -- Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne -- and I am instantly impressed. The beats were infectious and the hooks are relatively catchy. The production was outstanding. Everything just turned out really really well. The only thing I'm getting frustrated of is that the track has been reaching more people since l. I'm good with it being a hidden gem.
2013: UNION J, "Carry You"
2012: P!NK, "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)"
2011: JESSIE J, "Nobody's Perfect"
2010: KATY PERRY f/ SNOOP DOGG, "California Gurls"
2009: COBRA STARSHIP f/ LEIGHTON MEESTER, "Good Girls Go Bad" |

♫ "I rob and I kill to keep him with me. I do anything for that boy. I'd give my last dime to hold him tonight. I do anything for that boy." ♫ |
16 · SHAKIRA f/ RIHANNA, "Can't Remember To Forget You"
Weeks on Chart: 13 Weeks
Peak Position: #01 (3 Weeks)
Debut Date: February 1, 2014
Sitting pretty at #16 are two amazing ladies. During the first half of the year, this incredible collaboration was my pick as song of the year. Maybe I had it overplayed that's why it failed to place within the Top 10. Nevertheless, "Can't Remember To Forget You" was an instant favorite. Shakira and Rihanna both did an amazing job by putting up a smash latin-inspired pop perfection.
2013: ARIANA GRANDE f/ MAC MILLER, "The Way"
2012: CARLY RAE JEPSEN, "Call Me Maybe"
2011: TRAIN, "Marry Me"
2010: KE$HA, "TiK ToK"
2009: PARADISO GIRLS f/ LIL JON, "Patron Tequila" |
