♫ "This is the part when I say I don't want ya. I'm stronger than I've been before. This is the part when I break free, 'cause I can't resist it no more." ♫ |
02 · ARIANA GRANDE f/ ZEDD, "Break Free"
Weeks on Chart: 19 Weeks
Peak Position: #01 (2 Weeks)
Debut Date: August 16, 2014
This year's runner-up turns out to be the highest rankling EDM track on my list to date. After "Problem", Ariana Grande released another smash follow-up and I actually love it more. Zedd's participation definitely helped in boosting my love for this single. I love how it sounded perfectly and how it showcased Ariana's sweet vocals suited for an electronic dance pop perfection.
2013: ONE DIRECTION, "Kiss You"
2012: ONE DIRECTION, "Live While We're Young"
2011: JENNIFER LOPEZ f/ PITBULL, "On The Floor"
2010: SARA BAREILLES, "King Of Anything"
2009: TAYLOR SWIFT, "Love Story" |

♫ "She might have let you hold her hand in school, but I'mma show you how to graduate." ♫ |
01 · JESSIE J, ARIANA GRANDE & NICKI MINAJ, "Bang Bang"
Weeks on Chart: 17 Weeks
Peak Position: #01 (4 Weeks)
Debut Date: August 30, 2014
And your guess is right! Topping this year is the winner of the Best Collaboration and [i[Best Pop[/i] songs ever. "Bang Bang" was an undeniable smash and pop perfection. I actually never got tired of listening to it even until now. I love how these three diverse artists collaborated together and still maintained their artistry. Jessie was able to showcase her impressive vocal prowess reminiscent of "Nobody's Perfect". Ariana continued to deliver her sweet and enchanting vocals. Nicki went back on track with her signature pop rap style. Ultimately the best song ever of 2014.
2013: ONE DIRECTION, "Best Song Ever"
2012: ONE DIRECTION, "What Makes You Beautiful"
2011: ADELE, "Someone Like You"
2010: TAYLOR SWIFT, "Mine"
2009: TAYLOR SWIFT, "You Belong With Me" |

Well, here I go making my comment after paying this Best of dust.
130-126: The Foxes love is the highlight of this set.
125-121: New Flame is the good Chris Brown song I heard from awhile. Something I need is good-ooh ooh ooh. But, how could you say you prefer this over Apologize? I like Pulses.
120-116: I agree that Sing is the weakest single from X, but I still enjoy it. Pitbull has been disappointing me lately, but I do like Wild Wild Love and like the acoustic vibe and G.R.L did good work here enough for me to check out Ugly Heart. I guess All of the Stars gets too boring when it dragged too long, but still a wonderful song.
115-110: I like Animals better than their recent singles, but yeah the cap is creepy, but whatever. Cool Kids is simple, but I'm a sucker for melodic pop. I was focused on Rude and Let Your Hair Down to not noticed about don't kill the magic. Don't Say Goodnight is good, but I'm not a fan of Hot Chelle Rae.
105-101: Well, Perfume is fine and I don't really like Britney and sad that Pretty Hurts missed the top 100.
Top 100. I'm just going over the highlights. This is the Best Day of my life, Partition is sexy, My Love is so good, I'm so happy and I never get this song a shot because of that movie so glad it was a mega hit. Xo is pop wonderland, ME and My Broken Heart, Don't is my fav X single, I Wish I Could Break Your Heart. Holding onto Heaven is my fav from her, I like The Monster, but to me, it's not better than Love The Way You Lie. Talk dirty to me, Human, Maps, Drunk in Love. Well, I enjoy Bey's music this year. I like Anaconda more than I should have, love both Sam songs since his voice can work in different styles and Dark Horse is my Prism single.
Top 50! Summer is a great summer jam, why you gotta be so rude, You're Mine is nice, and Not a Bad Thing is not a bad thing. Thinking Out Loud is a beautiful ballad and I don't care how much overrated this is. Say Something I'm Giving Up on You is such a touching and vulnerable piano ballad. Meghan got that swag and sass and bass and love the doo-wop vibe. Black Widow is good, the only Iggy single I like this year. Chandelier and Team are so good, Invisible is nice. Can't Remember I Latch You. I'm Not the Only One is such a wonderful song, I Will Never Let you down, All of Me is such a great piano ballad. Stay With Me is great and that's it.
Nice Best of. It may not be my type of music prefeces, but I like the ones that I did like.
