65 · JESSICA MAUBOY, "Pop A Bottle (Fill Me Up)"
Weeks on Chart: 10 Weeks
Peak Position: #02
Debut Date: January 18, 2014
I did a massive research on Australian music earlier last year and came across with Australian Idol alumnus Jessica Mauboy. I've seen her a lot in the Videos section but I never paid attention to one of her tracks. This one changed the game. "Pop A Bottle" is one great smashing pop bop. Truly catchy!
♫ "Got me drunk on your love. So, where's the after party? 'Cause I'm just getting started." ♫
2013: ALICIA KEYS, "Tears Always Win" |

64 · EMINEM f/ RIHANNA, "The Monster"
Weeks on Chart: 7 Weeks
Peak Position: #02
Debut Date: December 21, 2013
Eminem and Rihanna went back to the studio and collaborated once again with "The Monster". With its undeniably catchy chorus, I instantly fell in love with this single. It became actually one of my favorite tracks when 2014 was about to start. I actually prefer this gazillion times more than "Love The Way You Lie".
♫ "Get along with the voices inside of my head. You're trying to save me. Stop holding your breath." ♫
2013: BEFORE YOU EXIT, "I Like That" |

63 · JASON DERULO f/ 2 CHAINZ, "Talk Dirty"
Weeks on Chart: 1 Week
Peak Position: #20
Debut Date: March 22, 2014
I never got the fuss for "Talk Dirty" the time it was released last 2013. Not only when it gained significant plays everywhere earlier this year. "Talk Dirty" exhibited the hip-hop side of Jason and I wasn't actually convinced with that direction. I've always been a big fan of his R&B efforts, but I guess this one somehow worked.
♫ "I know what the girl them want, London to Taiwan. I got lipstick stamps on my passport. I think I need a new one." ♫
2013: P!NK f/ LILY ROSE COOPER, "True Love" |

62 · CHRISTINA PERRI, "Human"
Weeks on Chart: 5 Weeks
Peak Position: #13
Debut Date: January 11, 2014
Christina Perri delivered one of the best and heartfelt ballads of 2014 through "Human". I admit I wasn't that much appealed by it at first, but it definitely grew on me a lot through the end of the year. I love how Christina showcased her amazing vocal prowess coupled with overflowing emotions and vulnerability.
♫ "I'm only human and I crash and I break down, Your words in my head, knives in my heart. You build me up and then I fall apart." ♫
2013: NICOLE SCHERZINGER, "Boomerang" |

61 · AMELIA LILY, "California"
Weeks on Chart: 8 Weeks
Peak Position: #02
Debut Date: August 2, 2014
X Factor UK alumnus Amelia Lily finally graces the Top 100 after a failed attempt last 2012 with "You Bring Me Joy". It's saddening to see how Amelia was dropped by her label, but I am elated to see her having a second chance with "California". Her best single to date. Reminiscent of how great early 2000s music was.
♫ "I've been living in denial. Trying to raise a smile. Life is picking on me. Looking at your pictures, who's that with you?" ♫
2013: KELLY CLARKSON, "Catch My Breath" |

5 SECONDS OF SUMMER, "She Looks So Perfect"
Best Pop Rock Song Ever
Ultimately, one of my favorite pop rock (slash punk) tracks of all time. Probably my biggest last-song-syndrome during the first half of the year. I love the attitude and the vocals 5 Seconds of Summer exerted in this track. Truly perfect.
RUNNER-UP: THE VAMPS, "Last Night" |
