I just wrote this for my English class about the book Into the Wild, but I thought I'd share it here. I might work some lines into a song later
The Edge of the World
On the edge of the world where night never falls
Into the wilderness, icy Earth sprawls
Thunderous rivers roar with the call
Into the wild, into nothing at all
Weathered and bruised by sinister weather
Whether you lose, or whether you wither
No sweater can cruise through winters this bitter
The weather's amused, it won't take a quitter
Fingers turn blue, dead on your palm
It's only spring, so why do you fall?
If you had a clue you'd lose your calm
Legs frozen cold, get down and crawl
There's no escaping the Great White North
You missed your call, you're stuck onboard
Strapped to its floor its sails set forth
Freeze you and squeeze like a bungee cord
On the edge of the world where night never falls
Into the wilderness, icy Earth sprawls
Thunderous rivers roar with the call
Into the wild, into nothing at all
Whenever I write a really personal song, I leave it alone for a bit then return to it to make sure it's actually a good song and not just a good cathartic experience. I feel like if you're caught up in the emotions you might feel like the song is ~special~ as you write it, but in that move you may sacrifice reliability, rhythm, etc. etc. Of course this isn't always the case, it's just possible!!

Thanks for the advice, I'm not touching it today, may leave it until tomorrow. I've finished school so I have plenty of time now

So Huga and GotSkill gave me formatting advice a couple of pages back and I have a question, but I didn't PM them cause that would be extremely annoying. I'll just leave it here, hoping you won't pay me dust
I want to create a table with 2 columns and I want to center it, but I also want to create some distance between the 2 columns. Like, if you divide the page in 2, I want each line of each column to be in the center of the respective half. [opacity][/opacity] and [d][/d] don't work according to the savvy sis Sam Jay, so any other tricks?

You mean like this? Or did you want more space between them? If you wanted more space, I really don't know unless you want to hit enter a bunch of times and have shorter text lines.

No, I want the two columns to be the same size, but I want both of them to be centered. Like this :
Everything is centered and the two columns are even. The titles of the columns are in a perfect distance from one another, as opposed to :

I notice my impact.
In all seriousness though, the imagery is stunningly vivid and omg I'd love to write a song like this.
Sam Jay, if you're llooking for a Mars song for inspiration (that also happens to include space imagery):
I probably shouldn't be admitting this, but even though I like most artists, I've never been a big Mariah fan. But I gave this song a listen anyway, and I actually really liked it! Thanks for the example.
So between this and I Gotta Feeling, I guess I'm expected to write something really upbeat and energetic, yeah? That shouldn't be a problem... hopefully.
