OIDIA. Britney crushed records and set her own (two of which are still standing 14 years later).
On top of that, OIDIA was the biggest era of the four mentioned and the most impactful. Teenage Dream is #2 and Beyonce is #3, though 1989 will easily eclipse that once it's been out for a month or two.
Um, she didn't just open with 1 Million She had her 3rd [consecutive] 1M+ first week, which has never been done before.
Still. 5 #1's, 69 consecutive weeks in the top 10, and consistently selling albums the whole time is nothing to laugh at in any way. I still say Katy, although all 4 are extreme successes

I'm not trying to degrade Katy's achievements But you can't shrug Taylor's off as merely "another 1 Million opening among many" when that's clearly not the case

Im not trying to say she is. The fact that only her and Gaga have done it this decade is extremely impressive
1989. I may not care for the album or the person who released it but don't be stupid.
A couple of Katy's number 1's were mostly helped by remixes. OIDIA sold 1 million in an era where it wasn't THAT uncommon or shocking. Almost 1.3 in 2014 is ****ing impressive whether you want to admit or not.
I'm a stan and I didn't even know Bey had a record.
