We're basically celebrating a man who raped, murdered, and enslaved Native Americans and took their land as his own. NA have been living in America first but its "discovered" when white men arrived.
Should it be renamed to Happy Indigenous People Day instead?

It definitely is bad, I mean poor indigenous people but I feel like portraying them just as victims can be bad too. Like in Mexico, the Aztecs were brutal and the reason they were defeated was that other peoples hated them so much that they joined the Spanish against them. And then like some poster said, if it weren't for that then I wouldn't exist. But yeah. commemorating it is bad.
