Was American Horror Story Coven a bit messy? I feel like they threw in so many plots such as the voodoo witch and the origins of witches and they never ended up getting covered. It was built up to stuff like that, but in the end... nothing really happened.

Of course it had a lot of highlights such as Queen Emma Roberts, but I felt the season as a whole was underwhelming.

The same thing kind of happened in season 2 with Dr Arden and the Aliens, they threw in so many plots that they ended up not covering all of them and giving them quick endings.

The storyline got a little messy and some stuff shouldn't have happened but I dont think the GP cared in fact they gained LOTS of new fans as it was the most watched season so far.

They should've left out the stupid aliens in Asylum. I didn't think Coven was that messy but could've been a little more concise and structured.

It was flawless.

It was just a horrible season in general

Yes, it was a disjointed, God-awful mess. It's a shame because it did have a promising start, but it was a classic case of Ryan Murphy checking out halfway through and not being able to pull it together in the end. Because of how crappy this season ended up, I'm so nervous for the next one.

More of the GP watched it because it was a lighter season that moved away from the actual scary nature of the show as the season went along. Season 1 and especially season 2 remain unbothered. A show called American Horror Story should actually be horrific. Coven was just laughable at points, which was a bummer because I love basically every actress in it (except Gabourey, she is awful).

Yes, it was. It didn't go anywhere in my opinion. So, so much more could have been done with it.

Yeah it was awful, the series started off strong, but halfway through it just ended up like they wrote the episode 20 minutes before filming

I think there wasn't enough horror and it appeared at some points they were focused more on the comedy rather than scary\shock factor of it all.

Not to mention, bringing back characters after they died was annoying.

Coven is my favourite season, so no.

It was the most watched season purely because it lived off the hype of the first two series, and nothing else



I think even though the GP don't mind certain things, the writers should still do a better job in certain aspects and not just brush things under the carpet

Yes. But it was highly entertaining.

Murder House was campy.
Asylum was creepy.
Coven tried to do both, and that's where it had short comings.

Asylum should have left out the alien story because that was such a waste of time if they weren't going to fully explore it.
Coven should have been 75/25 campy/serious or serious/campy. The 50/50 split really made it stall and towards the end, it felt rushed.

Hopefully they learn their mistakes from this and do Freak Show the best way possible because it has the capability of being amazing.
